Ms. El-Haddad joined the firm in 2017 as a litigation associate in the firm’s Southern California office. She specializes in complex civil litigation, specializing in health care litigation and insurance coverage issues. She represents major California health care providers in state and federal civil actions, mediations, and arbitrations against health plans, insurance companies, and government entities. Litigated issues typically involve interpretation of California’s Knox-Keene Act, the federal Employee Retirement Income and Security Act (“ERISA”), the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (“EMTALA”), as well as general contract and other business disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. El-Haddad worked as a law clerk for the City of Los Angeles in its Labor Relations Department and assisted Senior Deputy Attorneys research and draft documents relating to the workplace and employee-employer relations. Additionally, before moving to Los Angeles, Ms. El-Haddad externed with The Coca- Cola Company’s corporate counsel and helped counsel create uniform contracts to be used worldwide. While at Emory University, School of Law, Ms. El-Haddad participated in the National Juvenile Moot Competition and various litigation societies, to include the Civil Litigation Society and the Corporate and Business Law Society. Before law school, Ms. E-Haddad taught as a Middle School and High School English teacher in inner city schools in Kansas City, Missouri with Teach for America.
