Biography
Ms. Skier joined the firm in 1999, where she now serves as senior counsel specializing in reimbursement and recovery for hospital claims.  Her current responsibilities include the management of insurance coverage claims, contract disputes, eligibility, and governmental regulatory issues.

As an attorney, Ms. Skier previously was employed by the law firm of Shernoff, Bidart, Darras and Arkin, in Claremont, California, specializing in the pursuit of insurer bad faith claims involving health maintenance organizations and disability insurance policies.

In addition, Ms. Skier's previous clinical expertise gained as a registered nurse (as a MICN for Huntington Memorial Hospital's emergency room and as a CCRN for UCLA Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Los Angeles Medical Center) has served the firm well.

Ms. Skier served as senior manager and an assistant director of Member Services for the Kaiser Foundation Health Plan located in Oakland, California. She served as director of Quality Management for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Woodland Hills, California. She also served as patient representative and risk manager for Kaiser Permanente Medical Center at Panorama City and supervisor for Critical Care at Los Angeles, California.
